I bought the base car for $500, and was putting up to 400 miles a week on it, so everything was breaking. I couldn’t stay ahead of the repair curve, so I was regularly missing work or having to do emergency repairs. Then gas prices spiked and 400/week at 10mpg + lots of repairs became financially impossible. I bought a beater subaru wagon and parted it out.
